Friends International Guildford welcomes non-UK students, researchers and University workers from any background or belief who have come to live in our beautiful town.
We realise that life away from home in a foreign land and strange culture can be extremely hard, unsettling and emotionally challenging. In these situations developing friendships is key and we are here to help you.
We want to assist internationals in making new friendships and gaining the most from their experience of living in the UK. We also want to offer them the chance, if they need it, to improve their English with new local friends in an informal and relaxed way.
We offer our international friends the opportunity to meet local people and other students (both international and British) at fun social events and other occasions. Visiting nearby attractions, experiencing various British traditions and pastimes, enjoying a free home-cooked meal and hospitality with local host families and travelling around the UK. These are just a few ways we help them to enjoy their time in the UK to the full.

Friends International Guildford is a group of people (of all ages) from Christian churches in Surrey who want to welcome and care for international students.
Whilst some events offer the opportunity to hear more about the Christian faith, through short reflective talks or hearing other people’s life stories, as a Christian charity we also provide opportunities for those interested to join a small group to explore and ask questions in a respectful and non-threatening environment about the Christian faith and Jesus Christ. This group is open to those of any faith or no faith. Visits to local churches can also be easily arranged.
